Much is new this year at Sail Parry Sound with the addition of the new café and additional on site recreational activities.
The Country Gourmet Café on the Upper Deck at Sail Parry Sound opened in May and is offering fresh foods with a magnificent panoramic view of the Big Sound, daily, noon to 6 PM. Enjoy homemade fresh healthy foods, flavour bowls, smoothies, tasty salads, sandwiches, fresh juices and specialty teas, in addition to mouth watering desserts and their famous Belly ice cream, made locally from pure Jersey cream.
White Squall, the Paddling Centre of Georgian Bay offers free paddling and demonstrations, every Tuesday and Saturday afternoon.
To top it off, Parry Sound Bikes will be scheduling a Tour the Town Bike Experience to Sail Parry Sound, to enjoy our beautiful place on the shore.
August 6 and 7 we welcome sailors from Canada and the US for the Big Sound Challenge incorporating the Wayfarers’ Ontario Championship. If you’d like to be part of the welcoming committee, email volunteer@sailparrysound.on.ca Orientation is provided–then all you need is a friendly smile and a helpful attitude to make our guests welcome.
August 20th is Love Your Bay Day, a partnership with the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve. In the afternoon enjoy a live performance by renowned Parry Sound-born singer/songwriter Katherine Wheatley, whose love of the water is inspired by the beauty of Georgian Bay! Acoustic roots with catchy melodies, arresting vocals, great guitar playing, lyrics that get you and that you get – these are all things that have been written over and over again about Katherine Wheatley’s music. She sings truth, bravely, and in detail– even about the rocks at Sail Parry Sound! That’s where she will sing again. What could be better than enjoying the afternoon with Katherine while her beautiful voice echoes over the water!
The Country Gourmet Café on the Upper Deck will be featuring a delicious lunch menu and a BBQ.
Sail Parry Sound is easy to get to, along the Waterfront Trail, the first left turn north of the Stockey Centre. It’s the place to be this summer. Everyone is welcome!
